Our New Place

What happens when a church works together?

You get a whole lot done in just one week!!

This was our place on Monday around noon…

then after 30 people start priming, painting, scrubbing the floors, putting lights in, laying trim, getting chairs, finding decorations, and slapping a decal on the front window…you get this by Saturday night…

How do you Explain the Unexplainable?

Many who read my blog are from Arkansas, more specifically, Little Rock. For those who are not and may not have heard, here is the link to the story of what happened here yesterday.

Such a random act with no motive seems so very bizarre. It’s one of those things that you try to reason out in your mind but nothing makes sense. I think the question of “why would someone just go shoot someone else for no reason?” may never be answered.

I’m reading a book right now entitled “Not the Way it’s Suppose to Be” in which it discusses the evil in the world and how since the fall of man (Adam and Eve) things have never been the way they are “suppose to be.”

Things don’t make sense
-we make mistakes
-we steal
-we lie
-we are prideful
-we lust
-we cheat
-we have affairs
-we kill…

but there is hope…Christ gives light in a dark world…

To those who claim Christ…share His light…
because people are perishing all around us…
and evil is right under our noses…

then maybe we could
-make less mistakes
-steal less
-lie less
-be prideful a little less
-lust less
-cheat less
-have affairs less
-and kill less

(may the lord somehow make sense of the senseless…)

there are currently flowers laid at the democratic party building downtown in memory and honor of Senator Bill Gwatney…

Epoch has a Permanent Place!

Epoch finally has a place that’s all our own!

After searching and praying for four or five months, we’ve finally signed a contract for some store front space on Main Street. The space is located in between Community Bakery and Juanita’s (a great spot). It’s not a huge space but the location is perfect. It’s around some great places to eat and hang out as well as neighborhoods.

We’re spending this week working like crazy to try to get things done before this Sunday. That’s right…we’re meeting there this Sunday! I’ll have some pictures up later this week to show how the progress is going and what ideas we have about how to make the space look.

Keep praying for Epoch! After a month of testimonies the Lord really seems to be moving in a lot of people’s lives.
